Business Link

Business Link was/is the Government funded business advisory service for start ups

It was mentioned frequently during research I did for my book Find Your Dream Job.  People shifting from jobs they hated to working for themselves found the service, available across the UK, ‘invaluable.’

The Government is now winding it down.  But Vince Cable is creating a ‘replacement service.’  Over the next two years he aims to train 40,000 volunteers from the business world in mentoring skills.  They will then be available to advise new start up companies.

I look forward to hearing how effective it is.

In the meantime The British Library continues its service providing an excellent Business Centre and resources. I highly recommend it. And so does start up expert, social entrepreneur and founder of Eako Kresse Wesling. She set up her dream business recycling fire hoses. And, having interviewed her I know how passionate she is about her job and business.
